Our Women’s team had a good match, despite the final result. The Female Students played against Lija B on the 9th of January, with the final score being 2-1 for the opponent.
Lija B scored first, however, in the second half, Coach Zvezdan Vuković asked the team to be a bit more adventurous, and seeing the opportunity, he moved our number 10, Maria Mizzi, to a pivot position.
Mizzi repaid the trust by clawing one back for the Knights, scoring a goal to get a 1-1 partial result. Lija B proved too strong however, with them scoring another to secure a win.
The team were accompanied by Warren Sammut on the bench, who despite the loss, said that he was proud of the effort shown by the team. “We hope to be able to build on these performances!” he said, while thanking the ladies for their commitment to the Club.
