This year, the Futsal Malta Association organised an inaugural open cup, which aimed to attract new players and teams to the Futsal scene. We supported this Cup by entering a team of our own, using the same philosophy of trying to attract new elements to our club.

We also provided some space to veterans of our own, including:

We also utilised the matches to provide some match practice to our own lads, meaning that we have also seen the participation of the following players:
Stefan Camilleri
Kieran Debono

Cristian Fernández
Ryan Scerri
Zachary Farrugia
Mohammed El Amari

The team was able to play 5 matches, which provided the following results:
Matadors 0-16 University
University 5-2 Col Magic
University 0-11 Swieqi United
University 2-5 LiverMalt
University 8-2 Marsaskala

Finally, the club was pleased to award the participation and commitment of two individuals, James Brincat Almeida and Luís Figueroa, by including them in the technical set up of the club, to assist Niky and Zvezdan in their coaching duties.

Vice-President Warren Sammut and Sporting Director Nicholas Martinelli thanked the Futsal Malta Association for their innovative idea and in a joint statement, they hoped to see more of the same in the near future, for the benefit of the sport.
