The University of Malta Students’ Futsal Team would like to announce the signing of Brazilian reinforcement in Raimundo Nonato da Silva Júnior, better known as “Juninho 47”. The Brazilian arrived to Malta in January thanks to the scouting network of Director of Futsal Clayton Felice.
The Club has launched a video on its social media to announce the arrival of Juninho, which can be seen here. The video sees our main sponsor, ACJ Group, through its transport arm, driving Juninho to Campus Hub and then to the University of Malta sports pavilion, before he shows off his talent. The video was produced by Nigel Fleri Soler from Turtlemedia, and proudly displays all the other corporate sponsors as well, i.e. MITA, Alberta, Fort Fitness, Crossfit356 and TDM2000.
He hails from Fortaleza (Ceará), Brazil. His last club was Joaçaba Futsal, and he has played for other clubs, which include: Operário Laranjeiras, Dracena Tempersul, Ceará Futsal, Jijoca Futsal, Sercca and Mangueirinha, all in Brazil. Interestingly enough, he also played in Hungary for Veszprém. We asked Juninho for his comments. “I am very happy and motivated for this challenge, very confident that good results can come, and I will work hard so that, together with my teammates, we can achieve the season’s objectives,” he said.
Juninho stormed Sliema in his debut match, which also saw the debut of Zack Cocker, goalkeeper, who was signed in Summer 2023 and sent on loan to Marsascala. Director of Futsal Clayton Felice called back Cocker from his loan, who showed his intention to come back to support his mother club in the upcoming league phase. Cocker commented, “I am very happy to be here as this way I can get quality futsal in order for me to be able to make the grade. All the team and the fans have already made me feel at home!”
