In a joint press conference, representatives from TDM2000 Malta and UM Futsal came together to celebrate a landmark achievement for the student-led futsal club and the fruitful collaboration between the two organisations.
The occasion followed UM Futsal’s recent triumph, described as a historic comeback after a challenging period in the club’s history. The press conference opened with heartfelt remarks from Perit Duncan Muscat, President of TDM2000 Malta, who lauded the team’s performance during the final match.
“Last Saturday was incredible. I’m so glad to have seen it live,” Muscat said. “You’ve broken a personal trend of mine — the teams I supported never won any final I attended. But what I saw on that pitch… the hunger for victory, the relentless pressure, the crucial goals — it was unforgettable.”
He added that he felt personally proud to have supported the club’s journey over the years, referencing a period when the organization faced difficulties both on and off the field.
“It’s been a privilege to play a small part in helping the club reach this pinnacle. What a comeback. Give yourselves, your exec, your players and staff a big pat on the back. Forza Knights!”
Julia Zammit Galea Testaferrata, Vice-President of TDM2000 Malta, echoed Muscat’s sentiments with equal passion:
“Prosit guys. Very, very proud to be a fan and supporter. Bravi!”
The response from UM Futsal was deeply appreciative. Andrea Varrazzo, President of the Club, expressed his gratitude not only for the unwavering support received this season but also for the long-standing partnership with TDM2000 Malta:
“Thank you for everything, Dunc — for all the support through the years, through thick and thin. You’ve constantly been there for us and been our biggest supporters, and for that, I’ll be eternally grateful.”
Varrazzo went on to thank the entire committee of TDM2000 Malta, describing the organization simply as “the best.”
The moment marked more than just a sporting achievement. It highlighted the strength of a meaningful collaboration built on trust, resilience, and shared values — a bond between a youth NGO and a student sports team that has withstood challenges and now stands in celebration of collective success.
As the UM Futsal Knights hoist their well-earned trophy, they do so not just as champions on the court, but as a testament to the power of community support and organizational perseverance.
